In pain? We keep same-day appointments available every day for dental emergencies. Call us and we'll get you in fast.
Temporary Relocation
Our Queen Street practice (opposite the Uptown car park) is undergoing repairs after ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred. DrΒ Vincent, DrΒ Allen and DrΒ Jenny are currently seeing patients at First Dental Studio, Level 1, 245 Albert St, Brisbane CBD β about 10 minutes from our usual location.
We reserve same-day appointments every day for emergencies
When you call with a dental emergency, we don't put you on a waitlist. We keep slots open every day specifically for urgent cases β toothaches, broken teeth, abscesses, trauma. Call us, describe what's happening, and we'll get you into the chair as quickly as possible.
Our priority is stopping your pain first. Once you're comfortable, we assess the damage, explain your options, and start treatment β often in the same visit. No lectures about how long you waited to come in. Just care.

βThorough and gentle β best clean I've had in the CBD.β

Intense pain that doesn't go away with painkillers often signals infection, decay reaching the nerve, or a cracked tooth. The sooner we see you, the more treatment options we have.
Sports injuries, falls, or biting something hard can crack, chip, or completely knock out a tooth. Time matters β especially for knocked-out teeth where reimplantation is possible within 30-60 minutes.
A dental abscess is a pocket of pus caused by bacterial infection. It will not heal on its own and can spread to other parts of the body if untreated. This needs urgent professional treatment.
A lost filling or crown exposes the underlying tooth to bacteria, temperature, and pressure. Even if it doesn't hurt yet, the exposed tooth is vulnerable and should be treated promptly.
First aid steps while you wait to see us
Pick up by the white crown β never touch the root. Rinse gently with milk or saline (not water). Try to place it back in the socket and bite gently on a cloth. If you can't reinsert it, keep it in milk or inside your cheek. Get to us within 30 minutes.
Rinse with warm salt water. Take ibuprofen (avoid aspirin if there's swelling). Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek. Don't place painkillers directly on the gum β this burns the tissue.
Save any broken pieces β we may be able to reattach them. Rinse gently with warm water. Apply gauze with gentle pressure if bleeding. Avoid chewing on the damaged side. Cold compress on the cheek helps with swelling.
Do not pop or drain it yourself. Rinse with warm salt water to draw infection toward the surface. Take pain relief as needed. If swelling spreads rapidly, affects breathing, or you develop a fever β go to the emergency department, then follow up with us.

Minor symptoms now often become serious problems later
A small ache that comes and goes is your body telling you something isn't right. Sensitivity to temperature, mild discomfort when biting, a dull throb that disappears β these are early warnings. Almost every patient who comes in with a serious issue tells us the same thing: they noticed something weeks or months ago but hoped it would go away.
When we catch problems early, treatment is simpler, faster, and less expensive. A small filling now prevents a root canal later. An early infection treated with antibiotics avoids an extraction down the track. The best time to call is when you first notice something β not when the pain becomes unbearable.
