Dreams About Teeth

Dr. Vincent Wan

Dentist

Do you have dreams about teeth?  As a dentist, I thought it is only our profession that dreams about teeth as this is our work and what we see and deal with on a daily basis.  Naturally, it makes sense that you dream about what is going on in your life.  However, in society in general, it is apparently very common for us to dream about our teeth.  Unlike my own dreams of cases I’ve been doing at work, most people have dreams about their teeth falling out or breaking and crumbling.  Let’s have a look at what these dreams apparently mean:

Dreams About Teeth Falling Out

When you have dreams about teeth falling out, it apparently symbolizes you have let something slip out of your mouth that you shouldn’t have when you were awake.  Maybe you didn’t think before you said something and this could be hurtful towards someone else.  Maybe you lied about something or divulged too much information when you should have kept it to yourself.  There could be a sense of guilt.  Your subconscious may be telling you to be more careful about what comes out of your mouth.

Dreams About Teeth Breaking or Crumbling

When you have dreams about teeth breaking or crumbling, it apparently reflects an insecurity in your life.  Just like your teeth breaking and crumbling, you may be fearing that your life may be falling apart and you feel that you have little or no control over it.  The breaking and crumbling teeth could be a symbol for anything happening in your life in which you feel powerless or vulnerable.  This could be a fear of physical aging especially its effect on health and appearance, with the teeth breaking and crumbling a negative sign of the aging process.  You may be constantly stressed about this so you worry about it night and day, even subconsciously.
